Well, this is my first WordPress theme I have developed. It’s designed for photoblog with nice slideshow. I would like to named it “ZigZag” because it has a zigzag background. Unfortunately there was a theme named “ZigZag” out there.

Since this theme is still premature for the public release and I have no idea for the name. This theme will be releases soon as free but you may checkout the early demo of this theme.

I have few questions on my head about this theme:

Is this a good theme?
Is anyone willing to have this theme?
What features should I include?
What name should I gave?

Sneak Peek of FadeIn 2.0

As the older version, FadeIn 2.0 offers a simple and clean layout. The 2.0 has rebuilt from scratch and now the design looks more stylish and neat. As usual, this theme have the full support for Twitter and Flickr widget. The 2.0 layout based on 960.gs for the better view experience.

FadeIn 2.0 offers the multi-colors design scheme, so you may pick which one the best for your eyes. FadeIn 2.0 will be available for WordPress and of course Habari platform. The good news, it’s still free!

Fade 2.0 is planned to be released at New Year 2010, so keep awake.

Math_Numerical_RootFinding 1.1.0a1 released!

The latest release is version 1.0.0 released in February 2nd, 2005 and almost 2 years being dead package. Finally a new Math_Numerical_RootFinding 1.1.0a1 has been released today. There is a minor change on Math_Numerical_RootFinding_Common class, now the validateEqFunction() method accept a new parameter named $guess which is initial guess to find the whether if the equation function is work or not. As the impact all Root Finding method classes updated to use guess value for validation. But it’s still keep the BC, so don’t worry about compatibility.

The change has been requested on bugs system Request #2897, also for addition now it included unit tests which written as PHPUnit based tests. Even the codes were written with PEAR Coding Standard, but It was still hard to review after 2 years away.

Habari Theme: FadeIn

FadeIn is a Simple and Clean multiple posts display mode with grid based looks theme for Habari created for personal blog. It has been tested running under Habari 0.5.2 as well as Habari 0.6-alpha (svn HEAD). Also render tested on Firefox 2.0.x (via Flock), Firefox 3.0.3, Opera 9.62, Safari 3.1.2, Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7.

Plugins Compatibility

In order to run properly FadeIn requires Gravatar and Twitter plugins. Other optional plugins supported: Colophon, FlickrFeed, Monthly Archives, Recent Comments and RN Tag Cloud.

It's Alive!

Just like I said, finally! I have finished set everything up for this new my home, well not everything actually.

The hardest part is

I guess every designer know how pain really designing the very own website. I have been angry, frustated, laughed, yelled to my modem and can’t even get sleep sometime.

I have created about 10 designs or so, Colorfull, Grunge, Elegant, Clean/Simple and Dark. But there’s always get something wrong, even with this current one.

Why? Perfection, pride or what?

No, It’s just about me. Web is my canvas which I did my art, so like the other artist such as Van Gogh, Mozart and Lennon. There is human emotion during it and just for only hope that everyone can enjoy the work.

Then…

Well, I brought my older posts included all received comments from firman.dotgeek.org, firmanw.org (already took over by other) and tarzilla.wordpress.com. Also made Indonesian Edition for Indonesian audiences. Why another edition? Did you do translate? I don’t translate the post, the post is absolutely independent. Sometimes I feel comport to write my post in Indonesian.

At the very end, I’d like to thank to peoples for the support and a special big thanks goes to Yoke who is the “KEY” behind me.

Last.fm Audioscrobbler Plugin for Habari

Introduction

This plugin allow you to display the album cover art from your recent tracks recorded at Last.fm powered by Audioscrobbler on your Habari page.

Requirements

Habari 0.4.1 or later
SimpleXML enabled
GD enabled

Installation

Download the plugin ([LINK REMOVED]).
Extract the the file to user/plugins in your Habari path.
Activate and configure the plugin at the Habari admin page.

Configuration

Last.fm username – If you don’t have a Last.fm username, get it at Last.fm for free. The web service may take about 5 days to works if you just for first time using the Last.fm.
Period – The period of record to fetch.
Records cache path – Cache directory to store the records cache relative to Habari path, make sure it’s writable by webserver.
Cache expire time – The expiration time of cache in second, 0 also means no cache. Beware your page will slow loading.
Cover image size – The image size in square dimension.
Maximum albums – Maximum CD cover images to display, may from 1 to 10.
Image cache – Would you cache the image in your server or use the original one.
Image cache path – Cache directory of cover images relative to Habari path, fill it only if the image cache is enable and make sure it’s writable by webserver.
Default image URL – An URL of image to use as default if the album cover not found.
Stylesheet class – Select the stylesheet class to apply on the

Moving to Habari

Yes, this is it. After long gone from the blog now I decided to back and show up with Habari. I think it was not easy to install the Habari or just because of the server, well not sure but I has succeed to make it up and run. I’m using my own template, yet still not completed and should be check-and-fix here-and-there later. So don’t be weird if you find something here is not working properly, this is the beta.

I also have imported some of my old posts and thrown away the useless posts. My last post was at April 2006, it was so long long time ago hehehe.

~~Oh don’t be shocked about my Flickr photo stream just because it is contains those cute chicks. Actually I just want to see if the flickrrss plugin is works.~~

The First Stable of Math_Numerical_RootFinding is Out!

This is it, finally the First stable release of Math_Numerical_RootFinding is out. Since the API is currently good enough for me and no plan in short to break it. The release schedule is late, it’s should be 01 February, 2006, since my IP has been black listed, I unable to send any mails go out from my country, so I can’t contact PEAR-QA directly, Bertrand has forwarded it, but no response until now, so I decided to release it today.

Several days ago I read private email from Keith Palmer Jr. (the Math_Polynomial lead) about the capitol bug in method calls right on Math_Numerical_RootFinding::factory(). Now all methods calls are using their insensitive-case alias names, some driver file names and class names were renamed into more prety names. Fixed some coding standard mistakes, also added Matthew Fonda as package co-lead.

This version is compatible with the previous version, don’t worry my friend just take a rest and close your code editor, there’s nothing to change. So what are you waiting for? Get it now!

PEAR::Math_Numerical_RootFinding Yet Another Lead Needed

Since a latest release version 0.3.0 of Math_Numerical_RootFinding, I am now currently brain dead about the future of it, have no idea anymore what should be done. I did some research about another methods to find the possibilities to add new features, but no results. I’m worry if Arnaud marked it as unmaintained package

So I’m looking for another lead to bring this package to be more usefull, if you interested on this package, please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime.

I’m waiting for you!
